**IN MEMORIAM: PROPHET JOHN OLA AKANDE (1945 – 2025)**

With heavy hearts and profound reverence, we announce the passing into glory of **Prophet John Ola Akande**, the esteemed Provost of Calvary International Bible College, Founder of the College of Salvation and Practical Evangelism (COSAPE), and the visionary behind the First Christ Gospel Ministries (INC). He departed this earthly realm on **April 4, 2025**, at the age of **80**, leaving behind a rich legacy of faith, service, and spiritual leadership that impacted countless lives across generations.

Prophet John Ola Akande was not merely a preacher, but a divine vessel through whom God poured rivers of wisdom, healing, and prophetic insight. His commitment to the Word of God and his unwavering obedience to divine instruction led to the establishment of ministries and institutions that continue to shape the spiritual landscape of Nigeria and beyond. His life was marked by total surrender to the Great Commission, with a passion for evangelism that birthed COSAPE—an institution that continues to train soul-winners for Christ.

As Provost of Calvary International Bible College, Prophet Akande mentored and discipled generations of pastors, missionaries, and church leaders, laying a foundation rooted in biblical truth, spiritual discipline, and practical ministry. He believed in producing not just scholars of the Word, but doers—those who would carry the light of Christ into every corner of the world. His teachings, seasoned with grace and prophetic depth, remain a fountain of inspiration to many.

The First Christ Gospel Ministries (INC), which he founded, stands today as a spiritual fortress, a testament to his obedience to God’s calling and his apostolic grace. Under his leadership, the ministry expanded into a vibrant community of believers united in love, truth, and the pursuit of holiness. Prophet Akande’s humility, fervent prayers, and pastoral heart endeared him to all who encountered his ministry.

Prophet Akande was not just a father in faith, but a spiritual patriarch who poured himself into others selflessly. His counsel was wise, his presence comforting, and his vision always Christ-centered. His departure creates a void, but his legacy endures—a living epistle in the hearts of those he touched.

Christian Authors Mourn the Passing of Prophet John Ola Akande

**CHRISTIAN AUTHORS MOURN THE PASSING OF PROPHET JOHN OLA AKANDE**

The Association of Nigerian Christian Authors and Publishers (ANCAPS) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Prophet John Ola Akande, the Provost of Calvary International Bible College, Founder of the College of Salvation and Practical Evangelism (COSAPE), and the First Christ Gospel Ministries (INC). His death, which occurred on April 4, 2025, at the age of 80, marks the end of a glorious era of spiritual mentorship, theological excellence, and Christian authorship.

In a press statement issued by the President of ANCAPS, Mr. Wole Adedoyin, who also serves as the Director of the Centre for Christian Literature Research and Documentation, the Christian writing community described Prophet Akande as a torchbearer whose works and teachings ignited spiritual awakening in thousands of believers across Nigeria and beyond.

Prophet John Ola Akande was not just a preacher but a prolific author, theologian, and spiritual father whose commitment to the Word of God transcended the pulpit.

Through his teachings, writings, and the institutions he founded, Prophet Akande built a legacy that will remain a guiding light for generations of Christian authors, pastors, and evangelists.

As the Provost of Calvary International Bible College, Prophet Akande trained numerous church leaders and Bible scholars who are today making an impact globally.

His College of Salvation and Practical Evangelism (COSAPE) served as a practical training ground for evangelists and missionaries, equipping them with the tools needed to spread the gospel effectively.

Wole Adedoyin noted that Prophet Akande’s books and spiritual manuals remain indispensable resources for Christian researchers and gospel ministers alike. "His works were rooted in deep scriptural understanding and divine inspiration. He was a voice for the voiceless and a defender of doctrinal truth," Adedoyin said.

Prophet Akande was also known for his humility, generosity, and unwavering commitment to kingdom work.

Despite his towering achievements, he remained accessible to all and was always eager to share his knowledge and spiritual insight with anyone willing to learn.

The Association of Nigerian Christian Authors and Publishers has promised to honour Prophet Akande's memory through a special memorial lecture and a forthcoming anthology of tributes and essays documenting his life and contributions to Christianity and Christian literature in Nigeria.

The Association prays for God's comfort upon his family, congregation, students, and all who were touched by his ministry.

While his physical presence will be sorely missed, his voice will continue to speak through his books, teachings, and the lives he shaped for Christ.

May the soul of Prophet John Ola Akande rest in perfect peace and may his legacy continue to inspire generations of believers and writers.
